To this end, I believe that UCLA is a perfect match: there is a reason why consulting is a top choice for graduates of Anderson’s MBA program. Its location in Los Angeles, a ‘nexus of industry, creativity and business-creation,’ cultivates an atmosphere of trailblazing and pioneering, which is important for the type of out-of-the-box thinking that I seek in my career trajectory. Furthermore, the prominence of events such as Social Innovation Week are further testaments to the significance of new approaches and ways of thought for business, in a manner that generates real impact. The ability to immediately apply classroom-cultivated knowledge to real strategic issues through the Applied Management Research field-study program is also a prominent draw. As Dean Olian shares, Anderson is ‘not content with how things are’—and this so strongly resonates with both my life and career philosophy. I look forward to constructing a solid educational foundation readily transferable for consultancy positions at prominently UCLA-hiring firms such as Deloitte and McKinsey.
